It's spanish town, of course it did. And I'm sure it will be in several of the NOLA satire crews also.

Why are the Spanish Town floats allowed to be offensive?

Doug Cossman, a board member for the group that oversees the parade, told the Baton Rouge Advocate he’s sorry if anyone was offended but “we’re not about to start censoring anybody’s free speech rights.”
Good enough for you, snowflake?

“They make fun of everybody, but when you go to the point of mocking an unarmed African-American man who lost his life in the streets of this nation, I just don’t find that funny,” Chambers told Fusion. “Every year they do this … and we’re supposed to be OK with it.”
I don't see the problem here.

I'm all about humor but was that really funny?
Would it be Funny if local blacks had a float that was labeled,"finger licking good", and it showed scenes of the shite heads killing the girl at Chicken joint, and after eating chicken with cash in their hands????
This has nothing to do with Missouri, this has to do with some pent up racism.
There is some backed up racism down there. They try to hide it in the name of humor. WOW

Spanish Town has always been the most offensive/risqué parade. We can argue all up and down if it is good taste, but the easiest way to not get offended is to not go.

Possibly, but we cannot definitively answer as presented. An explanation of a joke is never funny.

People are racist EVERYWHERE. This isn't exclusive to Baton Rouge.

I've never seen a Spanish Town parade. Minus the offensive nature of the parade is it still a good time?

I'm sure they aren't the most clever, but how does this matter? Who should be stopping them from doing what they're doing?

About as good a time as swimming in a pool that other people let their kids use as a toilet.

The entire purpose of that parade is political sature and being as overtly offensive as possible. If you're offended by it, GOOD! That's the point! They try to be humorous, and they pull no punches. Bush, Clinton, Edwin, Obama, Holder, John Bel, Vitter, Jindal, Landreiu, ect have all been depicted in sexually compromising situations. The entire parade is offensive, graphic, and hysterical. I applaud the organizers for not bending to political pressure, and f$&k racist Gary Chambers for his faux outrage.

So, anything can be funny unless it offends someone?
The first amendment gives you the right to speak, not the right to offend. Offensive words are weapons and must be regulated.

That right there offends me. I, as a white man, have never harmed or threatened to harm a member of another race (well except possibly during a sporting event).
Why the frick should I, allegedly, be responsible for actions of others?

Remarkably ignorant post.
