I'd be cancelling/moving any vacation that was to a beach that banned alcohol

That's the point.

What they bring in does not make up for the millions lost because almost no one other than the party crowd goes to PC. They do far more harm than good to the overall economy of PC. Everyone knows kids want to go to the beach and party. But in PC it's gone too far and they've driven everyone else away. That's why PC is now looked at as a shite hole.

I'm sure if the civic leaders that know PC best thought that was true they'da ended Spring Break decades ago...

Yeah I hate the high rises too. They fill em with fat nasty rednecky families and the beach is just too crowded for me

I can fly to a nicer beach in less time than it takes to drive to destin for comparable money.

That said I'm going to seaside next month and wife going to sandestin for 2 weeks in July

Daytona killed spring break there some years back and it's been a ghost town since.

East coast FL doesn't rely on tourism $$$ like the Gulf does. Although Daytona does/did more than other East coast cities.

The ban only last until April 16th and as a resident of PC, I am all for it until then. Come April 17th though.....

Daytona was/is the shithole they let the tourists have. New Smyrna, Ormond, Flagler etc are all nice in that area.

I haven't read the whole thread so I may be missing something but are you telling me they want people to cancel vacations and take money away from the local economy because of one shooting?

glad New Orleans doesn't freak out every time there is a shooting on Bourbon or during mardi gras

Only other east coast beach I've spent any time on in Florida is Ft Lauderdale and while I really liked it, I felt like I had stepped back into the 80s

That's exactly it.

And they want to attract a different type of crowd.

And I highly doubt the ban would be strictly enforced unless it was needed to be enforced.

that statement just seems...a bit much

I get so infuriated that we pay for these "mothers" to keep having kids so they can collect a bigger check every month.
