Does sippin on a bourbon negate the benefits of cold medicine (Alieve D)?

I'm asking for a friend.

well, one of the main ingredients in Nyquil is alcohol...

it will make you sleepy as hell, but doesn't seem to hurt the effectiveness of the other meds...

In fact, one of the home remedies that I learned from my grandpa was to warm up a little burbon and add some honey and lemon...damn good to sip on when you have a sore throat.

Just don't make a habit of taking acetaminophen based medicines while drinking, really hard on your liver.

Alcohol negates the effects of antibiotics. It enhances the effects of alleve or Tylenol or other pain killers (depressants)

NDB IMO! It just enhances the speed at which you get Cirrhosis.

But seriously I knew a guy that took allergy medicine constantly and never drank but died of Cirrhosis. Imagine doing them together.

alcohol is toxic.

It gives the body something more to deal with besides the cold.

I am not an MD.

I find a glass of wine relaxing and I have one even when I have a cold.
A shot of bourbon seems a bit much though.
