Some LSU fan threw soda at my wife from the upper deck of Williams Brice last time they played there in 2008 I think. It was shitty. So, I'm cool with the cop doing this.

Seeing cups being thrown from below (most likely by Ole Miss fans) and the way he sort of just tossed it with no real direction or force, I'd say it was a little overboard on the cop's part, or at least a similar punishment should have been given to the people throwing stuff at the Bama fan.

To the Ole Miss people here, are you ignoring the shite being thrown at the Bama fan? You don't think that had something to do with his motivation to throw something? Pretty inconsistent anger in this thread. I guarantee the "never been there before" Ole Miss queers were acting as douchey. The guy next to the one that got tackled was nailed with a cup after the takedown.

yep, for all we know he was dropping the cup into a dumpster(not a pun on the stadium,) throwing things in a stadium is not cool, plus you get the raid on a whorehouse type of effect, the first person the (douche) cop sees is going down, cop was the bigger dick

I'll disagree for a couple of reasons.
1- The guy next to him acted like he knew it was coming.
2- It seemed to be the same cup coming up that went down.
And to the person the above was in answer to. Kind of hard to throw empty cups up. Kind of dumb to throw cups with liquid up. While I see the large cup came up, what harm was done with that?
He got what was obviously deserved IMO.

i don't understand why people don't get that there can be a middle ground
yes, the Bama fan is a douche and, if throwing full drinks, deserves to get arrested...but that doesn't mean the cops can be abusive and use excessive force for no reason
cop couldve easily just walked up and grabbed the dudes armed or told him to put his hands behind his back
we've just become so used to cops being abusive dick heads that its just accepted and people "get what they deserve" even though all he deserved was to be arrested
