Hey,I'm going to be a freshman next year at LSU. I'm from Kansas and don't know anybody there. Is it hard to fit in? What are some tips you have for an out of state student?

Get good grades or your parents are going to be pissed. Out of state tuition is expensive.

I actually get in state tuition cause my dad lives in Louisiana

I was an out of state student that didn't know a soul before moving in to the dorms. You'll be fine. I met friends within hours. Just walk around and meet people. Get involved in different shite.

Live on campus, talk to anyone and everyone, dress decent, go out, and you'll have no issues on the social side.. don't frick up the school part.

It is not difficult to meet people in college. You will be fine, whether or not you know anyone.

Live in a dorm your first year. Many of my good friends were people I met in the halls the first few weeks of school.

you'll be fine...students at LSU are some of the friendliest I have met...

Congratulations, LSU rocks. Enjoy your time. Full of awesome people and you can have the experience you want, whatever that may be.
Suggestions:
1) Road trip whenever possible. Starting with your freshman year.
2) Live in the dorm freshman year.
3) Move into a house afterwards.

I made friends for life with the guys that lived on my freshman hall. There was only one real douchebag...he never talked to anyone, stayed in his room 24/7 and blasted music. One day we sealed him inside his room with pennies and he was locked in for the whole weekend.
