This weekend my 2 year old figured out how to climb out his crib. We were keeping him in the crib as long as he stayed. Since he figured how to climb out, he won't stay in his crib or room at all. He has never slept in the bed with us and I'd prefer to keep it that way. How did you keep your kids in their bed/room once they figured how to get out?

Feed him some paint chips, he'll forget how to.

When ours (have 3) started climbing out the crib we put a queen mattress on the floor until then we're ready for a regular bed. Don't want them climbing out and falling and not old enough for a big bed.

Shackles or a shock collar is your best bet

Transformed their crib into a toddler bed. Sorry your child is growing up he doesn't need the crib anymore. Time to explore , my kids are 7,9 and 11 and they still sneak in our bed at night . Doesn't bother me, I love my kids and don't want to miss a second if their childhood. Good times

Good idea.

I broke my arm when I was two years old after I fell while climbing out of my crib.

Lay them in the big bed. When they get out bring them back tell them you love them but they have to sleep in their bed. Do that till they sleeping. Eventually they will fall asleep.

Teach him about the monsters under the crib that chew little kids feet off.

Alarm that sounds when he gets out of the crib. That'll teach him.

Switch to a daybed, lose a few nights sleep trying to teach him to stay in the "big Kids bed"

Put him in a regular kid bed. For the room, reverse the locks on the bedroom so you lock them in (assuming you have a baby monitor and he is just playing with toys in his room).

The stupidest decision I ever made was buying a house with the door handles that open the door buy pushing either up or down. Now I have a kid and a dog that can open any door in the house other than the ones leading outside.
