But no.. Living oconus there aren't freebies like in the States, and everything on base is pretty much discounted anyway. I'm TDY in Ktown so I'm going to be bussing down spoiled AF chicks and heading to Chili's later.

No meals for me but today is my 33rd day of Government Service as I raised my on this day 1986. 24 years active duty with the Army and 9 years with the Navy. Probably go until they put me under.

You are good young man. I was a young buck like you way back in 1981 as an 11B. Spent seven years enlisted before I pursued my commission. And on a side note, I know your brigade commander very well. Exceptional officer. Enjoy your time at Fort Sam and train well. There are Soldiers out there counting on you.

I've never actually done the free meal thing. I'd consider it for lunch, but none of the restaurants around where I work downtown are participating, and can't get out of the parking garage for my building because it's being blocked by the Veteran's Day parade.
