A single cell splits once an hour. How many cells will there be in 7 hours?

I get 257 but can't figure out the formula.

1+ (2(2^7) is this correct?

There is always a trick that I don't get but my guess is 2^7 (2 to the 7th power).

1
in an hour 2
in another hour 4
etc to 7 hours = 128

Thank God it isn't another crappy parentheses problem.

You are forgetting the ones before. After hour one you don't have 2, you have 3. After hour 2, you don't have 4, you have 7

Ones? I thought you started with one. So after an hour, that one would split and you'd get 2, right?

12:00 - 1
1:00 - 2
2:00 - 4
3:00 - 8
4:00 - 16
5:00 - 32
6:00 - 64
7:00 - 128

2^t * s

t is doubling time
s is number of starting cells

Is that right?

GOOD. GOD.

If you're not trolling, can you give me a recommendation on which color of lead paint tastes the best?
