Buy a digital recorder and mic so you can document any harrassment or threats if they call back.

I was sitting with my dad and grandparents when I got the call. Currently waiting on a friend who is a deputy sheriff to call me back.

Darth offers protection at reasonable prices. But, I suggest getting the "Golden Ball Peen Hammer Premium Package". It covers everything.

One heated phone call doesn't a death threat make. If you want to be really conservative, call and make a police report so there is a record of it. Otherwise, don't sweat it unless she calls back. If she does, give her the "quit calling me" routine and go from there.

The DA and Police aren't going to do anything on this. At most she sounds like she is threatening a civil suit. It isn't like she called and said she was going to harm you.

Tampering with a witness is a crime. It is obstruction of justice. Call the police

Agree. You are being harassed and as a witness I would think it falls into witness tampering.

ive worked in several attorney offices over the last few years (but i am not an attorney). if this happened to one of out witnesses, we would hope the witness would call us. We would document it in our file and start a papertrail with the police.

I would recommend that you call and make a report and state who she said she was, what number she called from, and let them know if you think she misrepresented herself and is someone else.

I would communicate future incidents. If another party escalates things, i would have those escalations documented as well. i would ask the cops and the attorney you are in contact with on the case what they recommend as well.

And this is why legal advice on the Internet is worth what you pay for it. First of all, it would be Obstruction of Justice in LA and not "witness tampering" for statutory purposes. That being said, I will pose this question to the esteemed Internet barristers. In what case is he a witness?

There isn't a criminal case. He stated that in the OP.

There isn't a civil case. He already stated that she was mad because they didn't win the Wrongful Death action.

This could theoretically be building towards some sort of harassment/stalking case but, as I said, one instance doesn't mean anything. All of that predicated upon her continuing to contact him AFTER he tells her to stop (which is why I said he needs to tell her that if she calls back). It isn't Assault since she didn't threaten him. It really isn't anything at this point. But call the Police and then when they tell you what I said, come back on here and post about the Pigs not doing their job. Then you can have a love fest with the cop haters.

I've not heard of a Ching-A-Ling in years being outside New York.

ETA

I see the OP is in Hoover. That means there are three main possibilities...

1. Outlaws
2. Banditos (or Pistoleros)
3. Devils Disciples
