fwiw, a guy I know had virtually this same thing happen...only it went just a little farther and the other guy ended up dead and he is now serving 30 years in angola...

think about that shite....

say what you want about self defense, stand your ground, and all of that other shite that you see on tv...but if you kill someone, your life is basically ruined...

Whether you're justified or not, the process to be exonerated through criminal, and possibly civil court, can be agonizing.

The better question is this:

If he heard you loading your shotgun or saw you with it and used his own firearm to kill you.. is he justified? I say absolutely.. he would then be protecting his own life.
