I need to get some bamboo to screen one side of my property. Only issue is that I need it to be mostly fully grown to a height of about 25'. Any nurseries around BR that I can get it like that? I don't mind a little drive. Or can anyone recommend an alternative? The less expensive the better.

Terrible fricking decision! Go with something less invasive!

Please come get it from my neighbor. His is spreading across the fence into my yard and there's nothing I can do to stop it short of lots of fire

You can buy it in 7 gallon pots, and that will be about 8' tall. It won't take long to grow to a tall height, but it will eventually grow up through your fence, damaging your fence boards. It will also spread everywhere you don't want it to.

Get Savannah Hollies...pretty year round, nice height and manageable width, and will provide privacy very quickly.

Dig a trench 12" deep, drop down 2X12. I should form the barrier you need.

WE NEED A GARDENING/LANDSCAPING BOARD!

When we put a pool in about years ago I got some clumping bamboo. They were fairly large already (probably about 12 feet tall) and split them in half.

They are now well over 25 feet tall. If memory serves we got them at that nursery off of airline hwy behind the mazda place

I would do pompous (sp?) grass before bamboo. Bamboo will be a headache to keep from spreading also it always stays wet and looks like shite under it when they get tall.

Winner. Clump bamboo is the ticket buddy. 3 gal in forest hill for 7 bucks a peace. Not evasive and will give u that height in a few years.

There are many species of bamboo. Not all of them spread.

Go to https://www.bamboogardensla.com/ in Mount Hermon, LA (Franklinton) and ask them to recommend a species.

yes, clump variety. like the name implies it doesn't spread. It is very wide at the top though, it billows over. If its 20 feet tall, its20 feet wide at the top, but only 5' diameter. Now elaeagnus... thats the devil plant

Thanks guys. I actually don't really care to be honest about "down the road". I'm trying to sell my house and it would be going behind an 8' fence to hide an eye-sore that people have been saying is a problem. That's why I need it that tall now.

If you want running bamboo check out this site of how to control it. It can be done.
