I just started playing this year, around March or so. I'm only 27 and as of the last month or so I've been having some pain in my low back. More specifically on the left side. (I'm right handed, if that matters).

It's not bad enough to the point of seeing a doc, but if i progresses I'm worried I'll have to.

Is this normal for golfers? Or could it be something I've done wrong? I've started on a low back stretch routine for after I play as well as after I work out, and it seems to loosen up after I do this. But I'm kinda worried there is something inherently wrong with my swing that's causing this?

You're standing too close to the ball after you hit it.

without seeing you swing I would initially think that you may be using all arms.

The base of a golf swing is your legs.

Lots of the stretches I've been doing are yoga poses. Might have to look into some classes.

TBH it's probably something you did outside of golf. Golf may be aggravating it or keeping the muscle you strained from healing. But odds are that you didn't hurt it playing golf initially.

You may need to take a break from the golf to let it get better.

And don't try to kill the ball, swing at what you perceive is 50-75% of your strength

When I play after it's been a while between my right calf has a tendency to be sore from pushing so hard in my swing.

If you want a good swing, it comes from your legs.

my partner yesterday was hitting his driver 300 yards.

have a feeling that a few beers in and swinging too hard. Google kinda confirmed some of the responses here. Swinging with arms, tight hammies, and trying to kill the ball.

fwiw I'm in a co-ed kickball league and even started feeling tightness after that! Kickball!

I was having the same problem last year. I've played golf most my life and never had the problem until recently. After a while dealing with it I realized a problem I developed with my swing was causing it. I was starting my down swing before I really finished my backswing. Try a slight pause in your backswing before starting your downswing and see if that helps.
