For some engineering classes, I can see this. But for physics, he is money. He knows how to teach it better than the professors and he knows exactly how they test. It may not be the most "studious" thing to do, but if you have a teacher who doesn't take attendance, there's no need to go to a physics class if you can just get on with a Jai tutoring session before the test.

To the OP, I actually found Strengths to be easier than Statics. Strengths only adds a little to the material that you already covered. Yes there are some stress/strain relationships that are new, but nothing crazy. I for the life of me can't even picture what the person who taught me that class looked like much less what their name was though. I spent most of the class doodling and taught myself everything.

Jai is fine for the repetitive stuff like physics and statics if you're not going to go to class or do your homework and don't mind paying twice to learn something once. Once you get to the genuinely challenging classes, you see how easy physics 2102 and CE3400 really were. All you needed to do was do the homework without cheating and go to class.

This is the most helpful review of Moorthy on koofers

quote:

Pros: Class is manageable if you study ahead of time.

Cons: Moorthy is a cock sucking a-hole

But really, you can pull a B or C if you work hard. For strengths you can use this website too, it helped me. Doesn't work on mobile

Not the best teacher but when I took him about 7 years ago the test problems were basically taken straight from the homework

How is CE 3400 (Strengths) with Moorthy?

Nothing on Rate My Professor

That guy is so fricking boring and reeks of cigs. Hated him for strengths and dynamics. If you have the option of someone else, do that. If I recall right, there were no other options when I was there.

This. If my dumb arse could graduate and pass the FE on the first try with never giving him a dime, so can anyone else.

I remember his tests being pretty fair as well as his quizzes..if you put in the time and do the problems in the book you're good. Then again, engineering at LSU is more about how well you are able to teach yourself the material..having a good teacher in any class is just a plus

His tests and quizzes were easy as hell if you did all the homework.

Moral of the story in any technical class, do the homework without cheating and study old tests and bring your questions to the professor. I waited till I was almost done before I started doing that, and my GPA (and salary) reflect that.
