Buy starting strength and follow it to a T. There is no number anyone here can give you for a kid that age. Some reach puberty earlier than others and some have better coordination. Have him progress slowly with weight and don't pile it on too fast. Make him understand that slow progress is the best way to go because when he stalls it sucks. His weight will go up very fast on a good program as he will experience newb gains and when those stop you will need to make adjustments or change programs. Find a good powerlifting gym near you if you don't feel comfortable designing a program for him. Most power lifters are great guys that can't wait to help out a new lifter.

I think our 9th grade goal was to bench 1.5 X's your weight... Not many people did it but that was the goal. I'd say for his size maybe 135? Just a guess.

Nah, he's in 8th grade. Our goal was not realistic for a freshman as most people didn't hit that goal in 9th grade. (At my school).

The 135 number was a random guess that was only relevant to the 1.5x's by being less than it.

Nephew is 8th grade QB at West Ridge. He benched 210 last week. Squatted 350. He's 2 inches shorter, 15 pounds heavier. Just as a point of reference for 8th graders in the area. That's after 3 years though, he started lifting when entering middle school in 6th grade.

Bull fricking shite, bench i can believe but a legit squat of 350 no way.

Whats so hard to believe? His nephew is on the LA fast track.

My 6 y/o has sideburns and naturally is ripped. And he's fast as shite. (Brag moment)

A 350 real arse to grass squat is up there for a grown man at 180. Let alone an 8th grader.

105-135

I was 6' and 220 lifting 215-235 at that age, but I was an anomaly.

Isn't taught. Parallel is the technique taught at West Monroe. I know I know...but that's what is taught unless it's been changed.
