The last I heard they make the car stop.

Well my brakes cost less than a 1/10th of that and they stop just fine

No brake fade, no rotor warpage. Amazing stopping distances.

Prepare your anus when you need a brake job though.

What's so special about carbon ceramic brakes for them to cost $17k?

I won't say they won't fade when pushed, but as someone who has set his brakes on fire before, they are the best part of that car. They can be tortured and keep right on working.

If you are Rallying or Racing the car this makes some sense but for that car? Hell no.

The picture you posted is of an M3. Not near the same car or cost.

For nearly $130K the "active driving assistant" had better be "barely legal" and with a dirty mind who knows how to "power tailgate".

Needs ultimate brakes...

What kind of idiot would pay $129k for an M5 that you can probably get in a bigger city for $95k?

If I have $129k to drop on a car, I'd save up another $100k and get a S65.

When I graduate, the first thing I plan on buying is a used CL65. So I'd have a 2004 Silverado and a V12 Benz

Well, most people have never gotten their brakes so hot that they catch on fire. Plus, if I paid 17k for them, I am sure as hell not going to abuse it to the point of where regular brakes would catch fire. I wouldn't drive the car that hard either!

One of our project managers is on his second one. That car will knock you back with acceleration. Best of all the seats not only warm and cool but they will massage your butt. Well worth the $128K.

That only applies when they have some heat in them during track outings. Otherwise they are no better, and in some conditions worse, than standard iron rotors and organo-metallic/ceramic pads. Other than unsprung weight savings and bragging rights there is no benefit for a street driven car.

when i build my own on the BMW website the brake package is only $9k, why would it be $17k on this one?

Same here, I'm not sure what is extra special about this brake package, I can't find anything about ordering a car with it either.

Looks awesome but I don't know if I would pay 130k for it.
