The Tacoma shouldn't even be in the conversation.

I had an 06 Tacoma and loved it. Great truck and never had any issues with it. I got a Lariat F150 October before last and I love it too. The two trucks are just way to different to compare. Tacoma is much smaller, much less power, and floats over mud because of the weight. F150 is much more roomy, powerful, and more of a utility truck than the Tacoma. It also feels (and is) huge compared to a Tacoma.

My Tacoma was a badass though. I put that truck through some serious shite.

Toyota by far. Honestly, anything American made in the past 10 years is junk.

Yeah, the simple fact that you could do alot with them and they still keep going is one thing I've always considered. Having a child and needing the extra space will probably keep me away from the Tacoma though.

Looks like the consensus is Ford. I've heard Ford has done some great things to the F-150 over the past 8 years and it looks like everyone agrees. I see a ton of them on the road here.

My F-150 is a champ. 120,000 miles.

I guess anything over 100k should be considered an accomplishment for Ford

Had a 06 Ram Lone Star edition. Never gave me a day's trouble.

Traded it in on a 13 Ram Sport crew cab.

I've had Ford, Chevy, GMC and Ram. Ram is my favorite, and the most reliable.

Well, if you can't trust truck advice from a guy with a Toto song for his sig, who can you trust?
We'll call you when we need advice on the non-essentials, this is a truck thread.

Ford, no contest.

While I'm impressed with the DodgeRam's leap in quality, they still aren't Ford-level. They do continue to erode GM's market share, but really, how hard is that?

Its gonna take a lot to drag me away from Toyota. Its nothing that a 100 Fords could ever do.

They are good tucks, but domestic quality has gone way up.

Toyota has pushed their suppliers for cheaper and cheaper parts and thats what they got. (hence, the recalls)

Tacomas are bulletproof though.

( Rosanna was better, duh)

My dads 96 ford F150 just went over 500,000 miles, 1 tranny at 280,000 and a timing belt/chain at 330,000, otherwise no other issues. I have an 06 F150 with 204, 000 miles, replaced the interior fan blower motor ($18.00) at 100,000, otherwise no issues, havent even put brake pads on it

If you want a truck get a Tundra, that way you can look down on F150 drivers.

Had a 2005 quad cab Tacoma - loved it. But the cab will be tight when you start adding car seats

Drove an F150 for years for work, actually had a fully loaded Lariat after I sold my Tacoma and loved it.

Now own a 2010 Tundra Double cab and love it although I am about to sell it and buy a fully loaded 4 door Jeep Rubicon.

I work in the cellphone tower industry. I have driven every truck bought and sold in the US. Including Chevy LTZ 4x4, F150, F250, F350, F450, Dodge 1500-3500 models. Tacomas, Tundras Titans. I average around 2500-5k miles per month and in the end they all drive the same. The only difference is the extras and trim packages. I have always been against Dodge but I just got a quad cab Ram 1500 with the Outdoorsman 4x4 package. Only boxes not checked were leather seats and a snow plow. And to be honest, I like it. I do not think you can go wrong with any of the three you listed. I would get one of the 1/2 tons in a 4 door if it were me though.
