Figured the OT has their fingers on the pulse of what's actually needed for flood relief. We are in the middle of our flood relief drive and a couple of persons back home have told our group that clothes were not needed or being taken anywhere. Initially we were told clothes were needed.........people here in Central Florida are stepping up big time and a lot of donations are clothes. Needed or not needed says the collective OT brain?

Here's what we are asking for if anyone has any thoughts for additions or subtractions

Appreciate your help. When you have questions about aid to Louisiana, a Catholic Church will give the best advice.

I've heard that some places are turning down clothing because they don't have the space to store it or the manpower to sort it all. I'm not sure where to find out who is still taking clothes. Maybe the Salvation Army? I've also heard that some thrift stores are allowing flood victims to shop for free.

Now school uniforms are a different story as most of the school districts around here have dress codes. Many individual schools/PTOs and perhaps some school districts are having uniform drives. (navy or burgundy polo shirts, khaki or navy pants, shorts, & skirts)

Thank you for your help!

Yeah clothes aren't needed. Unless maybe packaged socks and underwear.

Now that's it's been a week mold has began to form in homes that haven't been gutted. If you can send over some Mold respirators for the volunteers gutting and cleaning homes.

We divided & concured.

Saved our clothes by sending each set to different family members.
Now we need some of those totes with lids for the time being.

Saved the dishes and my outdoor cooking hardware by washing them in the back yard. Needed lots of dawn.
Everything else is in a 25ft pile in front of my house.

I gutted the house and I would say those cheap home depot / Lowe's gloves were the best.
(orange or blue on the palm and white cloth on the back)

I'm going to get the fans from my warehouse to help dry the studs, but if there's a way to send fans, I'm sure they'll be appreciated.
