Ordering a suit online

I'm having trouble finding what I want in stores. Has anyone had any success stories or negative experiences ordering a suit online from a site like Oliver Wicks?

I've bought a couple from Lands End and been happy with them.

Order the suit and have it tailored locally. What I did with my tuxedo.

Should I give them my measurements and let them try to get it close, then have a tailor fine tune it if it is slightly off when it comes in? Oliver wicks says they'll reimburse up to $125 for tailoring in the first year.

There's a reason local folks don't stock what you're looking for, contact the Panthers, maybe they'll share.

I've only ordered online from JaB, but never had any issues. As long as you know your measurements, I find it far preferable to dealing with a salesman trying to win his bonus.

Had very good success with Knot Standard. They do allow you to reference a store bought brand and size as a baseline, then ask you what about that fit you'd like modified.

I've read previous topics like this, and one of the consensus answers was suitsupply. Looked into it and plan on using it for my next suit.

For the build your own on suitsupply, it only asks for jacket and pant size. Oliver Wicks asks for way more measurements, which is more reassuring

They never looked the same in pictures vs on the rack in the store. I'd rather see it in front of me!!

PocketAces has a good online suit guy.

Ravi the Tailor
Excellent quality. Reasonably price. Best suits I have every owned.
Ships his stuff in a little box and you take it to the cleaner to be pressed.
He actually came to Baton Rouge this year to do measurements. You can send in your own and the instructions are there to do it.

Fly to Bangkok and have them made, you will not regret it, not to mention the other things you can do there.

I'm getting married next December. Seriously considering Jack Threads. A blazer and pants is under $100. Renting one is over $100.

I've gotten some stuff from black lapel that is nice and fits like a glove. Go to their website, print the measurements sheet and spend $8 to get a tailor to measure you. They ask for like 2 dozen measurements. Really nice fit and they also cover tailor cost if you need adjustments.

Did Knot Standard. Great experience and suits.
Indochino has a great deal right now

That's because suitsupply is off the rack. Oliver is made to measure.

Fly my tailor in from Dallas.
Usually do 3 suits a year. You're not OT ready.
