Operation: No Valentine for Criminal Minds
Members of the Livingston Parish Sheriff’s Office – with the assistance of the Louisiana Department of Probation and Parole – conducted Operation: No Valentine for Criminal Minds February 13, 2017 through February 14, 2017.
Sheriff Jason Ard says, ‘There were a number of goals set with this particular operation. We wanted to execute narcotics-related search warrants. We wanted to serve active criminal warrants. We also wanted to assist Probation and Parole in violator compliance checks. We want residents to know that we listen to what they’re saying. Citizens are our eyes and ears. When we get a tip in Livingston Parish, it’s followed up on. This particular operation is the result of intelligence gathered through our citizens and our undercover work. We targeted the Magnolia Estates area of Livingston Parish after reports of a rise in criminal activity.’

Sheriff says, ‘As a result of this operation, illegal narcotics were removed from the streets of Livingston Parish – from marijuana to heroin and stolen property from several reported thefts and burglaries was recovered – including a box trailer, an ATV, handguns and counterfeit bills. This took teamwork – between the LPSO and our citizens. It took a lot of detectives working long hours. This is something that needed to be done and something that will continue to happen in Livingston Parish. That’s a promise.’
