My husband opens doors to businesses/restaurants etc but I need him to get in the car and turn the ac on as soon as possible.

If we approach the car from the passenger side, I open the door for my wife. If we don’t, I don’t. Running around the car to open the door is performative silliness, not dissimilar from men standing up from a table anytime a woman stands or sits.

I always did it.

My last SO got tired of it. But that wasn't the cause of the end of the relationship.

Only one car door open per sammich made.

When they put on a dress and heels again, keep house, and make sammiches for their men again, then chivalry will make a comeback.

They don't want gendered roles anymore, so they won't get it.

Guys are pussies nowadays.
No doors for the ladies.
No suits.
Act like marriage is stupid.
And they make fun of liberals not knowing they do the same retarded things.

Not when you're just going to Applebee's.

My wife opens the door for me, muddafucca. I'm the breadwinner.

An old fart here who raised 2 sons in the Southern Gentleman way of life. It takes mabe 30 seconds to do something nice? But my son in Japan still does it for his Japanese wife & in Japan, it's very much a male dominated culture / society. It was unheard of but by now, after almost 5 yrs of marriage, all her friends love my son. They look at it as a sign of respect & attention, something very lacking there. Sure times have changed, a lot, but I still see no harm in simply doing something nice.

Auto locks probably have something to do with that.

I’m a stickler for elevator etiquette too. Women enter before I do and exit before I do. I’ve taught this to my male kids. Older women appreciate it; younger women seem confused by it.

What is more confusing to younger women is that the guy should walk on the street side. A while ago, I was leaving the courthouse in DC with a much younger female lawyer. We were walking a few blocks to the parking garage. As we crossed streets she seemed befuddled that I would come around from behind her and walk on the outside. After about the third time she said, "What are you doing?". When I explained why I was walking on the outside she asked me to stop. I did but that was as uncomfortable for me as my insistence of walking on the outside was for her. Oh, well.

Ever the consummate gentleman. Do you also sleep on the side of the bed closest to the door and let her sleep between the wall side and you?
That’s true chivalry.

I am sad to admit that it's been a loooong time since I have shared a bed with a woman.

I do try to be a gentleman when I am out with one, though.

I always do that. And at a restaurant you sit in the seat facing the door so you can see everyone who enters and exits and profile everyone so you’re not caught off guard by a shooter.
