My roommate is on his 5th. His first was in LA and expunged, 2nd & 3rd were in SC, 4th was in Michigan and his 5th (and most recent, April I believe) was here in LA. Somehow, this is considered his "first". He's a frick up with family issues but is making a legit effort to get his shite straight and we support him. Me and my other roommate have him on lockdown and a short leash. Yes, he's a frick up and an adult and can make his own decisions but still, he's still our friend and we're looking out for him despite the fact that his past decisions haven't been very good.

Theyre very different. One is saying I'm going to try to get you fired. The other is saying you're probably going to get fired. One requires action by the speaker. The other doesn't.

No real point arguing about it, though.

Neither should be said. However, if one is going to be punished for it the other should as well. Both are "intimidation" tactics.

Damn how old are you? I always thought you were a generation ahead of me from central, but if you know him then I guess not

ETA I didn't know he was 23. He's 2 years older than me and he was in the same graduating class as me I think (don't think he graduated)

Anyway, this dude needs to do some hard time. I hate drunk drivers, they're a scourge.

I have zero tolerance for them. If it were up to me the penalty would be at least 5 years suspended license with no chance for some lawyer to talk it down (for first offense).

As you can imagine it's a personal thing. Wife and I spent 5 days in the hospital after getting hit by a drunk driver - it was his 3rd.
