I'm what some would consider an alcoholic. I've drank anywhere from 4-40 beers everyday for about 7-8 years. I recently quit drinking during the week and dropped 30lbs with a quickness. I'm about to start coke again to take care of the other 25 lbs I need to drop, then I'll be in tip top shape

Be prepared for baby to possibly have to stay in the NICU for a ill bit after he/she is born.

Will just depend on how bad baby's withdrawal symptoms are.

Ive actually wanted to ask you ur opinion on this before nurse. but some people just want to make it more shitty than it is on here

What do you think about staying on it vs weening off. because two drs have told her better to stay on it. her Dr at clinic actually wants to up her dose as her preg progresses. idk what to think at this point

I don't know much about pregnant women taking it tbh. I just care for methadone babies at work. Some do just fine.....and some are soooooo irritable and have to be put on oral morphine and be weaned off that slowly cause they are so miserable.

I would say do what her dr at the clinic and her OB suggest. Make sure her OB knows of any dose changes as well.

Thank you. it was difficult decision for her

My worst fear is that it will make the baby a drug addict like me. by teaching its brain dependency or something. but i dont know any science behind that

I hope she has a healthy and smooth pregnancy and a healthy baby.

And I'm not really sure of long term effects with methadone babies.

Depending on the hospital policies and the state.....don't freak out if a social worker visits y'all in the hospital after baby is born. Many times they have to visit any methadone mom. This doesn't mean they are trying to take baby away, many times just making sure mom has resources and support in place once going home with baby.

Yea that makes sense. kinda like they told her if she fails a random in her 3rd trymester that they would notify child services. they definitely get involved ,and I dont mind at all. Im sure it saves a lot of kids
