On airplanes, why is the luggage bin not specific to the assigned seat?

You should only be allowed to place your carry on in the overhead above your seat, not 12 seats down the row

It is. You just have to be man/Alpha enough to take it.

Why not have the bins on the bottom and the seating area raised a foot off the ground?

Because there is not near enough storage space for every passenger to carry a legal sized bag. They count on some passengers with no carrry-on.

Holdover from a forgotten time. Wasn't a problem when we were in a society and had decency

True…..but a New York to Paris flight in coach class in 1955 is $3300 in today’s dollars

I see people put their carryon in a bin rows behind where their seat is. I’m like oh, you must want to be the last person to get off the plane. Assigning the bins would be a game changer.

I think that's probably a faked staged photo

Honestly if we could get rid of the germ mask Nazis and hell just go back to conditions on 9/10/2001 that would be wonderful

You never noticed that there's not enough overhead space for every seat to have a carry-on bag?

Let me give you some advice. Never bring a carry on. It’s too much of a hassle. Just check your bag in, and it will be waiting on you at your destination.

Ok. But todays business class is much more comparable to coach back in the day. Price business from JFK to CDG and get back to me.

They still have those flights. But you aren’t paying or them.

frick that.

1. I don’t want to stand in a long line at the airline service desk to check luggage.

2. Your luggage probably will be waiting for you if you check it. But if you carry it on it will be with you… always.

Worst travel advice ever.

The bag doesn’t wait for you. You wait for your bag.

Awful advice. I’ll have my bags down in my hotel room, and I’ll be off to dinner before you see your bag on the conveyer
