Hope they staff it better than they staffed pediatrics when I worked there. Not very smart to give one nurse 9 pediatric patients, 3 who received chemo during the day and require a timed IV infusion to rescue the kidneys. The rescue drug had a very very small window in which it had to be given to be effective, and I am talking minutes, like 5. I actually made the charge nurse cry that night because she had to have a few patients herself. Took her playtime away from her. So glad I am not playing the OLOL game anymore. I was never one of their team players anyway!

They had one in Shreveport spearheaded by Hal sutton.. It ultimately failed along with the general hospital (Schumpert) that it was attached with.. I don't know the ends and outs of why it failed but I hope this works and doesn't share the same fate. I assume the failure was more with the decline of Schumpert in general but that's a guess

Ochsner, New Orleans has a stand alone Children's hospital, then there is also Children's Hospital in New Orleans.

Ochsner Children's Hospital is on Jefferson Hwy across the hwy from the main hospital.
