The Bengal is some weird-arse church now. It was a great place to hang back in the late 90s. It wasn't overrun with frat guys; it was mostly The Bayou type crowd, which was my cup of tea.

No. It was on the corner of Florida & Third. It was Richoux's during the day for lunch. It's being renovated currently to house a Raising Cane's.

It was very low key. You had to know it was there and what it was. Not many did.

Would love to know your real name. I'm sure we knew each other, if only in passing.

This country boy had never seen the likes of a bar of this nature. I was content to tolerate the laser lights, the freaky techno music, and the Cyndi Lauper look-alikes wearing 3 watches on one arm. Then I saw 2 dudes make out for the first time in my life, and it was time to GTFO.

It was Xanthus when I went there too.
And, mostly, I always saw girls making out with each other, so...

I loved hanging out at the Bengal, circa 1988.
75 cent Long Island Ice Teas if I remember right.
Great place. Great times.

Well, it was a dance party place, so I just assumed there were drugs going around.

I remember it being an "all-ages" club, as well.

We used to go to the Cajun Hall in HS on all-ages night. I can't remember, for the life of me, where that place was.
