Thinking of moving our tailgate to the old front nine lot. Any advice for a newbie to that area. When to get there, where the best spots are, any thing else we would need to know etc. thanks

That area has already been claimed by another biker gang

Why are you leaving your old tailgate area?

Technically it's 1st come 1st served but setup late so you can see what's really available. This will avoid animosity. And you want friendly neighbors. Makes for a much better experience.

there's usually space out there but there are a few spots that people have been there for years...most everyone is friendly and knows each other, though

Perfectly said. The more you go, the earlier I would go out there.

As long as you don't set up where we do, come on over.

Past several seasons we have been out in the levee lots. It's easy for everyone to park and whatnot out there, its just so far from everything.

Like Bullfrog said, I'd let people set up some of their spots on friday so you can see where the space is. Should be plenty.

That's pretty much what I was fishing for with this thread. Kinda figured I would just go hunt for a spot really early Saturday morning. Hopefully all the established guys will be already be set up, but we can still find a spot. Thanks for the help!!!

That makes sense. Passing by late Friday will give you a good idea as to where everyone who will be out there will set up. Being that this is the first SEC home game, and paired with it being a day game, there will be people out there who aren't there every week.

someone took two of mine last year and we figured out who it was and it almost got the entire front 9 going to fight them

thankfully someone came and brought it back

We're thinking of tailgating in that lot behind the Greek Theatre/Student Health Center and The Pentagon...by Kirby.

We're mainly looking for quick ease to the parking lots, The Chimes(bathrooms), and shade. It's a pretty wooded area...oak trees and cypress trees.

Do any of you know if a lot of people tailgate there? Can we "show up" and stake our claim this weekend? Thanks

Did they take all the tents that were up before 5 p.m. (Friday) down on that side of campus like they did on the parade grounds for the McNeese game? I know that's the official rule but we've been doing it forever and they've never enforced it. I do remember them doing it once before and just hoping its a flash in the pan thing again.
