I vaguely remember that guy. How long ago was this? Wait, I don't think I want to know that.

There was also a waving man on Stanford Ave back in the 90's. He prob had dementia or Alzheimer's.

It wasn't just one guy - they were triplets. I worked at Fun Fair Park in high school. They'd always walk through the park waving at everyone.
ETA: different cowboy...

I remember that old white guy. Had to have died years ago.
Someone wrote here recently that the middle-aged African-American gentleman who waved on Sharlo died a couple of years ago. Can anyone confirm that?

There was a man who did that for years out on the corner of Glenmore and Bawell. Haven't seen him in a few years, guess he may have died. He looked pretty old.

His name was Loren Cox. He had downs. Stood at the corner of Courtland, and Greenwell Springs Rd. His mom had him at a late age, and that is why they say he had downs. (not sure about that, but his mom was in her 40's when he was born) When she became ill before her death some assholes beat the frick out of Lorin, and it was determined that he could no longer be taken care of by her, so he was put in a home until he died a few years ago. I remember him waving at passing vehicles from way back in the early 60's.

The Sharlo waver died? Damn, he was pretty famous in the 90s.
How long did he keep it up?

Pic from a different obituary:
Different guy then. The triplets always wore cowboy hats, boots, and red bandanas. Only two of the three were identical - the other looked different and was slightly smarter. They were usually seen walking on Florida Blvd. between Sherwood and Lobdell.

There was a video from 2011 on YouTube where he said something to the effect that he had been doing it for 19 years. If the rumor is true that he died a couple of years ago, then he must have done it for about 21 years.
