Fifteen minutes! it took these idiots FIFTEEN MINUTES to get to the enclosure. I could ramble off a ton of things they could have done other than nothingg

Its not clear about how these 15 minutes went down.

If that timer started the second he fell over, that 15 minutes isnt that much time. I will assume a trainer or any of the staff wasnt at the cage at the time he fell in. If so, some random person had to run around and find a worker. This person will get on the radio and/or probably run to the enclosure to see the situation.

Meanwhile, there may only be 2 or 3 people on site with access to the guns. So this person with access has to go possibly across the zoo to get the gun, over to another area of the zoo to the tiger cage.

Fyi, zoos can be very big and take awhile to navigate.

Fwiw, if there wasnt someone on site with access to the guns, thats a huge problem.

But 15 minutes isnt a very long time when you take into account everything I just said

Somehow this should be turned into a Geico commercial.

Its not an eternity when you take into account everything I said. And that is with everything going perfectly considering the situation.

I've been to a huge zoo, I could sprint across that thing and back about 10 times in far less time than that. The inept zookeeping crew should not be who you're defending. Something should have been done and that's why they're still up in arms over this

It isn't graphic. Guy is waving his arms around, shooing the tiger while the tiger tries to figure out WTF is going on. Then tiger grabs him by the nape of the neck and trots off to the back of the enclosure with him.

Trust me, I hate the idea of killing a tiger. They're literally my favorite animal. In a perfect world this situation would have been prevented, but it wasn't. SO save the dumb bastards life

Youre full of shite.

From one end of the BR zoo to the other can be between 1/4 and 1/2 mile.

We dont know the whole story. If the guy fell in and the keepers didnt know for 5-7 minutes, there might not have been much they can do.

You suggesting pepper spray, a tazer, and a bamboo stick was absurd.

People are up in arms because a person died, duh

Never did I say anything resembling this. A tranq gun or a real gun should have been around. Hell, with a real gun you wouldn't have to kill the thing. Shoot it in the arse, I bet the guy has time to get away then

Forgive me for not measuring the distance when I was there. The point remains the same; urgency does not appear to have been paramount

Or he'll do like that woman in Australia and jump into the crocodile pit.

ETA: It was apparently in Thailand.

It was on site.

They dont keep them at the enclosures.

Yes you would. You shoot to kill and I dont doubt that the zoo would have done that.
