That 16 year old is probably going to have some guilt issues.

He's going to have a lot of issues. If he doesn't then he isn't human.

With 8 people they were probably in a big church van and sleeping in the long bench seats

This is just plain stupid. 4, 7, and 15 year olds in the car with no seatbelts on?

not enough seatbelts as well. Very foolish. Much like the guy who hit and killed that family up in zachary and they had like 7 or 8 people in the vehicle.

Are there 3rd seats for the tahoe? Seems like a frickload of people for a tahoe and luggage for a vacation.

I felt horrible, then I saw that none of the five ejected passengers were wearing seat belts, and all of them died. Now I only feel bad for the driver because she is going to blame herself because the passengers were not wearing seatbelts

I agree about the two adult passengers who were killed. But the other three where were killed were 4, 7 and 15 years old. They were just kids. What a terrible tragedy.

no way i'd put that much responsibility in the hands of an inexperienced teen. No fricking way.

Assuming they had a third-row seat, they would have had 8 seatbelts, which makes it even worse that the seatbelts went unused.

the XL has a 3rd row but is still considered a 7 passenger vehicle.

Yea, I didn't see the age of the kids. Feel horrible for them because they didn't know any better... but their death is due to their parents. I don't blame the driver in this one.

There is. My wife has as 09 Tahoe with a third seat that folds down when not is use. There's seat belts enough for 7 passengers if I'm not mistaken. The two in front, 3 in the middle, and 2 more in the 3rd row.

I'm guessing they had to have their luggage stowed on top. When you have the third row in use, there's literally zero room left for luggage behind that last row of seats.

the adults are 100% responsible for this tragedy. Make no mistake about it.

Shortly after I started watching automobile racing (Indy, not that Nascar trash) - I lost my taste for driving/riding around unbuckled.

You can still get killed buckled up, but you even the odds greatly.
