If a cop handcuffed a ten year old and refused to tell the child's legal guardian why the child was being detained/arrested, and it's all on video, I'd think that cop is going to be looking for a new job. But I bet this story is bull shite.
had an outstanding warrant for battery on a school board employee, a third-degree felony.

I'd imagine the battery charges are filed for procedural purposes.
Against a 10 year old that didn't initiate the physical contact and may not understand why it's happening?

Apparently he was expelled in October after the incident.
It's almost impossible to get an ECE kid expelled from a school/district without multiple interventions (i.e. multiple suspensions, in-school suspension, a BIP (behavior intervention plan), etc.). And some pretty severe incidents.

I think it's fricked up if they held an autustic kid overnight,
I'm not buying the kid is autistic. I'm sure his mother is just a lazy piece of shite who uses it as an excuse.

John’s mother does not deny her son’s troubled history in school, but says his autism is responsible for his behavior.
In October, John was expelled from school and forced to complete work from home.
But Wednesday, when he reported back to school for the first time in five months for state testing, things didn’t go as planned.
“To go and have him arrested on school grounds in front of other students, in front of personnel, during school hours, they could’ve come to my house at any time to tell me what was going on,” she said.
His mother is fed up calling out the school district for not providing the right resources to handle a child like John.

Special Ed. Teacher needs another beating for pressing charges

Sounds like an excuse, glad the cops did the right thing here.

Yeah I thought that had to tell you why you're under arrest. Or in this case explain it to is mom. This count cop needs to have her arse beaten.

Perhaps you are on to something in finding out the truth.

Yes there is more to the story. Apparently he was expelled in October after the incident. He returned to school only for standardized testing in April. He was arrested then.
------------------------------------------------------------
You're EXPELLED! See you in April for Standardized Testing.
WTF? Why did the mother even bring the kid back there?

I just watched the video, and I tend to agree. He didn't seem like he was on the autistic spectrum... just a little mean kid.
