yes. frick your kind. Lawyers are the prime example of how a group of a people set up a system where only thy can benefit from it. Most cases neither the plaintiff or the defendant win...... Their attorneys do though.

Can any OT Lawyers weigh in on the merits of the case? Does the officer have a chance of winning anything here? I know their are fairly stringent standards that speech must meet to actually be considered a threat.

Whole thing's a real long shot. I wouldn't take it but more power to em. I hope they rip nut sacks off of em.

Funny that people hate lawsuits until it benefits them or is something they believe in. Then their hipocracy is on full display.

DO lawyers get a tax write off for working pro bono?
Especially if it is established their client can't afford their services?

I agree with your hope, but lets be honest there's a 0.00% chance they will do the right thing.

I don't think it has any. Causation has to be proved. I just think that the causal link is not strong enough.

So even BLM needs a white man to support them.

Didn't know you could sue a hashtag...

Exactly what I'm thinking.

I've never known BLM to be a real organization with actual leaders.

This is good to see. Seriously, they are responsible for this... The shootings that took place in Dallas last year, some of the rioting around the country, etc.

They organize these protest and when something happens they claim they are "peaceful" and they can't control what other people do, but if they organize protest and something happens, they are responsible.

There are a lot of people out there who are ticking timebombs and they just need something to trigger them. They need something to take action against and for these people, the whole BLM thing did it for them. Like the jackass who shot Rep. Steve Scalise. He got triggered and decided to go do the extreme.

To some degree the same applies to James Holmes, Jared Lee Loughner, etc, but I am not sure if there was one particular thing that set these two off, but my point being.. is that when you organize something you are responsible for what happens. If you host a party, you are responsible for anything that happens because of it..

But with all that said, I thought BLM wasn't "officially" an organization? At one point I want to say I thought it was a non-profit, but then found out it wasn't (but that could have changed since then). If it isn't an official organization, then there isn't anything to sue.

Why don't they just say they're suing Deray and his crew? That's more accurate than saying they are suing Black Lives Matter

Plaintiffs attorneys don't make money unless there is a settlement or verdict their way. Sounds like you hate insurance defense.

You could say the same as well for people nowadays always arguing that everyone should be responsible for their own actions, then this happens, and by every account this dude shooting the cops in Dallas had zero link to BLM...but we want BLM to be held responsible!!!!

Then theoretically, some celebrities and conservative activists could start the hashtag "#blacklivesdontmatter", send rioters to BLM protests to beat the shite out of their activists, and nobody on that side could get sued?

I like it.

No, you can sue all parties involved, but you can't really sue a hashtag.

You don't see the difference?

I want to sue Facebook for allowing that kid in South Carolina to post pictures of himself with a Confederate flag in the background.
The monuments in New Orleans would still be up if it weren't for these photos.
