I agree with your hope, but lets be honest there's a 0.00% chance they will do the right thing.
So you want attorneys to not get paid for handling a case that will undoubtedly take an absolute shitload of work?
do you work for free?

Can any OT Lawyers weigh in on the merits of the case? Does the officer have a chance of winning anything here? I know their are fairly stringent standards that speech must meet to actually be considered a threat.

It's a tough case as this guy was a lone wolf influenced by BLM. BLM is also not even a legit organization. Does BLM even have money to pay?

I hope so but damn this is a very difficult case.

If BLM is not a organization, then could you go after the leaders of it?

sure, but this is kind of like that girl whispering to the guy that committed suicide. Did Deeray actually tell this guy to shoot up cops in BR?
I'll give props to the attorneys that took on this case. i wouldn't want it. I am interested in what they get in discovery.
ETA: and I'd like to see a copy of the suit.

So Obama invited hashtags to the WH for frequent meetings?
Two of the individuals named in this had multiple meetings with Obama.
Hell, Obama, JBE, and BLM leadership had a meeting before the attempted riots here. There's a picture that circulated last year of this meeting.

Do you work for free? What an asinine thing to say.
Having said that, I hope BLM gets bent over.

Linking BLM leadership to the shooter's actions will be tough. Even if he gets a sympathetic jury or judge it would be likely that BLM would win on appeal. The people in here wanting the lawyers to work for free are retards, this will take a shitload of work and the likelyhood of success isn't great. Tarnishing BLM publicly might be the most effective thing done with this.

I'm paraphrasing, but doesn't the law say that it's legal to speak about violence, but if violence actually happens as a result of said speech, then the speaker is held accountable? Could that be used?

Regarding the first lawsuit
quote:
The listed defendants include not only those associated with the Black Lives Matter movement but public figures such as the Rev. Al Sharpton, Louis Farrahkan, George Soros, the New Black Panthers Party and even President Barack Obama and presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

That's kinda what I figured, I dont think BLM itself has money to pay, but the leaders of it personally have money to pay. I know a federal judge is supposed to rule soon in the other case they filed on if BLM its an organization that can be sued as such, or if its just a movement/idea.
Would the DA's office report saying that the shooter was not here as part of the BLM organized protests, but just as an individual here to kill police officers hurt the officers case?

He wasn't talking about every lawyer in every case baw. He got tied up in the whole patriotism, serving, thing and surely did not mean to really threaten Muh Money. Forgive him.

at least get the money the city-parish paid to the agitators who were appeased (see: DeRay) after they got themselves arrested and put it in that officer's hands to help pay his medical bills

Since SWB made sure that those who got their feelings hurt were paid, how much has she earmarked for those who were actually hurt or killed, and their families?

The attorneys representing Tullier previously sued Black Lives Matter and Mckesson on behalf of a Baton Rouge police officer who was injured at a protest over a deadly police shooting last July
Any idea how that suit went?
ETA: I see it was asked and answered already.

that is insane. i don't think you have a clue how much time and money it will cost to prosecute this case.
the better hope would be for some special interest group to pick up the attorney fees.
