Prayers still being sent for this. One of my friends was in on the warrant and he is pretty shaken up as expected.

Serious question, I'm not flaming...

"Holy Cross" is an upcoming neighborhood, but the ghetto is right next door. Regardless of current property values, it's still in a sketchy area.

I have no idea how these warrants are served or how LE identifies themselves before entering. A previous poster stated that the "thug" started shooting through the wall as LE tried to make entry. Another, or possibly the same, said the perp had been shot or shot at just a few months ago at this same house.

Was this JPSO deputy shot through the door as he tried to break it down? Is it possible that the shooter thought this was a home invasion?

I can't answer your question because i don't know much about this warrant. I know how we did and way we taught officers to do

Thanks for the response.

FYI - If anyone is interested, I just saw an article on NOLA.com saying that the JPSO and The Blood Center were sponsoring a blood drive in Arnold's name tonight and tomorrow.

I mean u can equate every area in New Orleans almost as that. U can be in good neighborhood one block and the "hood" the next, but I understand what you are saying.

Bad deal.

Just for those wondering, you serve warrants at 6 a.m. for 2 reasons:

1) Catch them while they are home

2) Catch them while they are asleep and less aggressive (but everything has exceptions)

Sucks, prayers sent to the family.

We always served our warrants at 4 am. The suspects are in a deep sleep at 4 am and we would have the house secure before they realized what was going on.

I'm no criminal apologist but this kind of activity is why there is a good hatred of the police. The motives used to catch criminals today are reason for such distrust. Criminal or police I have nothing good to say about as identifying the players today almost impossible. Both are illegally going about their business, just one wears a uniform.

This statement makes no sense. I was putting wanted people in jail that were being charged violent crimes and we wanted to do it safely as possible. These are not nice people we were hitting at 4 a.m. It was all about putting a dangerous person in jail without anyone getting hurt.

None of our guys ever got shot or injured during this time. We trained hard and we looked out for each other. A lot of dangerous people were taken off the streets during this time. It was all done legally.

There was a new thread earlier today saying Deputy Arnold died. I think BeeRye was the OP. Was that BS?

I believe he may be talking about no knock warrants. Either my reading comprehension skills are leave a little to be desired or he isn't good at getting his point across. I agree with him on these no knocks. Unless someone is in imminent danger they should be stopped.
