You have given, that's the main thing.

What happens when people make fake gofundme pages? Can they just keep the donations? Who verifies this?

I would feel awful if this is fraudulent. I updated the OP with a facebook "verification" that was posted in the comment chain of the page. Should I take this down until we know 100%?

Based on what Lou posted, it looks very legit.
Thanks Lou.
Come on OT, let's do this....

I'm sure it is real, but I always wonder about jackasses out there tryna profit off of tragedies.

I knew what you meant. Yeah the neighborhood is talking through the next-door app and trying to verify if the account was real.
The neighborhood is also trying to set up a vigil but wanted to make sure something like this was appropriate at the time. Someone that is close with the family found out those answers and posted it through the app.

Hopefully Montrell's page exceeds the criminal.
We don't know if the killing was justified. The cops will probably get off due to how our legal system works regardless.
But I'd suggest that we stop implying that someone deserved to die because of their history.

I would feel better if they were doing this through a local bank like Whitney or Iberia. They would make sure the money went to Jackson's family.

Don't ruin a thread about a true hero with that crap.
