I keep watching those Alaska shows and it makes me really want to go up there and homestead off the grid. But I'd need to have a permanent work crew with me so I don't think it would be feasible.

Lots of folks still do it. Hell, you can live off the grid within driving distance of some of the larger towns.

Small business owner. Run payroll for film production companies. I also dabble in Film Finance, and have produced a few movies as well. It was a pivot for me from my original business in medical coding.

I really don't have the desire, but could do so if needed. I've got a couple years experience. I'm more of a small town person.
