NYC is the king of all American cities, I fully acknowledge that, but Upstate New York is every bit as redneck as rural Texas and from my own personal experience, more racist. "Diversity" is a REALLY bad argument as Houston is more diverse than NYC and offers every culinary experience and ethnic tradition NYC has, except for good bagels.

You can get good pizza in Houston. You can get passable pizza all over the country. As good as NYC? That's not my point. My point is that you can't even come close to a NY bagel anywhere else. That is the one category they firmly own.

And stories of them being titanic jerks are over-told and over-sold. They're the same hurried, stressed, densely confined people you'll find in any major city. I actually prefer them to the denizens of rural Mississippi.

I had a good laugh at it.

So what if our businesses put these signs up outside the premises...

I'll leave this for NY...

Houston is diverse as any city that's worth a frick, that doesn't make it special. As far culinary diversity not many cities in the world can compete with NYC, so I'm sure Houston is not biting on the heels of NYC in that respect.

Also, frick New York.

What's the metric you are using to compare Houston and NYC on diversity?

There's well over 100 languages spoken just in Queens, and almost exactly half of the city is either a first or second generation immigrant, with English being only spoken exclusively in 51% of houses.

I actually enjoy New York and love visiting for a few days every year or so. I pity the people that have to live there more than a couple of years, but I do realize that we have lovers of bright, city lights and urban jungles.

That said, isn't Lewis Black a D.C. guy?

I don't understand...is there someone out there trying to compare Texas to NYC? I'm the furthest thing from a Texas supporter, but you're comparing apples to oranges here.

Next let's compare San Francisco to Gary, Indiana.
