why are you such a pussy?

The Russians fly some bombers near us. Have subs close to the us and you freak. NK pops off some roman candles and you are worried. Do I need to start a thread for all the weaponry the US tests every year to make all the pussies feel better? No army is a threat to the US.

Be careful with these posts, they might come nuke Tigerdroppings then I would have no way of knowing when the warhead is headed this way.

No offense, but are you stupid or something?

As far as NK being a threat, there is zero threat we will see their troops landing on the beaches of California. But that does not mean they're not a threat. In fact, they represent one of the biggest threats we face on the world stage today for two reasons.

1. They've got enough artillery and firepower to turn Seoul, SK into powder within the next two hours if they so choose.

2. They poses nuclear weapons and are making strides on both longer range missiles and high yield nukes.

But that's not the biggest threat the pose. No, the biggest threat they pose is there's a very real chance they'd be more than happy to build and sell a nuke to someone like ISIS or Al Qaeda. If that were to happen, the repercussions would probably be an attack on the US that would make 9/11 look like child's play. All it would take is smuggling a nuke into a shipping container and then detonating it once it reaches an American port like Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, or even New Orleans.

Yes really. Who are you worried about attacking us? Our Navy alone would stop any force before they could get close.

Nevermind my question from my last post. You just answered it quite clearly. You've confirmed that you are in fact quite stupid.

Kim Jong Fat seems like the type that will say "if I'm going to hell, I'm going to take as many people with me as I can." Of all the crazies out there, he is the one that worries me the most. The MAD doctrine doesn't concern him. I'm not worried about an attack on the United States by him, but it is within the realm of possibility that at some point he would take a shot at Seoul, Tokyo, or Manila.

I have faith our intel along with other nations would know about this.

I am guessing you and spaceman are both ex military...seems like yall would have more faith in our defense systems and also be more confident with our military to the point you wouldn't worry about this stuff. Think of how powerful we are compared to all other countries. Do you really think a country will ever try to attack us with all of our weapons at our disposal...a terrorist organization is different.

NK currently has missiles that could reach the West Coast of the US. However, it's doubtful they've miniaturized their warheads to the point they could mount them on an ICBM. They claim they can, but that has not been verified.

The biggest threat as I said above is that NK could build and sell one (or more) nukes to someone like an ISIS or Al Qaeda who would then smuggle these devices into the US (or Europe) and carry out an attack on a nightmarish scale.

Sadly, that's the problem. These tests come as a complete surprise, including the sub-launch.

Having things at our disposal - well, therein lies the problem. How many provocations do we need? Remember, and Darth will back me up, that our military is basically a shell of its former self. Super technology? Well, that is useless against overwhelming odds. Our planes can only carry so many missiles. A raptor wouldn't live against 10 Migs or Su's. Oh, I believe we could win in the end, but getting there would be hell.

Why not just fly jets over this assholes house and kill him and his family and be finished with it? This could be done on the Friday of a holiday weekend like the Hillary email dumps and it wouldn't get covered.

Faith? Faith like we knew we were going to be attacked on 9/11? If you think our intel is foolproof then all I can say is you've watched too many action movies and TV shows. That's not how the real world works. Sometimes we're right, sometimes we're not.

I am, I think Spiff is as well.

I know enough about our defensive systems to know what they can and cannot do. For example, our defense make any invasion of the mainland US by any world power totally out of the question. I also know if any country launched a bombing attack on the US they'd be met with a counter punch that would leave their country a smoldering pile of bleached out bones.

But at the same time, it's also quite easy to do things like send in terrorist teams to carry out attacks or even smuggle a nuclear device hidden in a shipping container into just about any US port.

When it comes to things like this, or defenses are far from impervious.

North Korea is different from any other country on this planet. For lack of a better comparison, NK is the crazy man of the nations. From a military standpoint, they cannot defeat us or even come close. But what they are is out of their mind nuts. And this makes them unpredictable. Thus it's not out of the realm of possibility that NK could try to either hit us with a nuke or sell a nuke to be used against us.

I would imagine that most likely you would see them used against SK or Japan. Or maybe one near enough a carrier group?

I totally agree with the terrorism part, though. I wonder how many things are caught in the ports that we aren't told about...

This is what I do not understand. NK is 1/6 the size of Texas, their only ally is China, but I am sure the word ally is used loosely by the Chinamen. In fact, they are condemning this.

If NK would attack another country, is there another country that would be behind them? No.

The worst thing they could do is become a serious threat to another country. They don't have the resources to get into a war. They just do that shite so they can make their citizens think they are stronger than they actually are. It would be in the world's best interest if they were invaded and turn it over to South Korea.
