Nothing like fricking up the interstate to commemorate Katrina
quote:

President Obama will arrive in New Orleans midday on Thursday, Aug. 27. While he will not attend events in the Central Business District, be aware that the interstate highway will be shut down from approximately 12:15 – 12:20 p.m. from the airport to Treme. The president will spend most of the day in the Ninth Ward and is scheduled to leave the city around 5:30 p.m. For those commuting home, the interstate from the Ninth Ward to the airport will likely be shut down from approximately 5:15 to 5:35 p.m. In addition, President Bush and President Clinton will visit the city Aug. 28 and Aug. 29, respectively. Employees who work or live in the New Orleans area should expect likely traffic disruptions at various times during those days. Watch the news for updates and street closures associated with the visits by President Bush on Friday and President Clinton on Saturday.

His visit is delaying a project of ours because they don't want road crews out along the path New and exciting twist to the industry I hadn't really considered before.

If he would take 610 back to the airport, that's not really a big deal for me But alas, they aren't

I'm in OKC this week and coming home tomorrow. This will be the 3rd time he's messed up my travel plans. Everytime I've been to OKC too. A little weird. The last time I was here, he was here and they closed off the interstate 2-3 miles around the airport. I had to take back roads to get to Hertz. Oddly enough, when I pulled into Hertz, I was about 200 yards from Air Force One.
