It's a Cover Your arse precaution. If you eat raw oysters in New Orleans, but won't shower during a boil water advisory... well you're being inconsistent.

BTW, the city is in the process of building 2 water towers at the S.Claiborne plant which will be able to keep positive water pressure in case if power outages. This will soon no longer be an issue to worry about.

Bigger question is how the statues are pooping in the treated water supply.

There's no other kind of water available from the tap, so the question is really "should I shower today?"

I'm hesitant to believe anything can move into the "problem solved" category in this city but hopefully that works.

Didn't even think twice about it, and brushed my teeth. Just don't drink it yet. Loaded up on bottled water at the office yesterday, so we are ready to roll.

One was beneficial to his political ambitions. The other reminds you what a terrible leader he is.

New Orleans: where people point to the application of 19th century technology as "PROGRESS".

frick that shithole of a city. frick the PEOPLE in that city, because if they didn't elect the morons they did, that city wouldn't be in the shape it's in.

What do the poor people who don't work or pay their bills do? Does NO need the National Guard to start handing out bottled water? No doubt there are gonna be some claims filed over this. Service industry can sue, anywhere with pumps can sue, and of course, the indigenous population can "get sick" and sue.

Mitch is out of town the majority of the time, so no wonder he DGAF

As for the dishes, a bleach water or sanitizer afterwards is perfectly fine.

I wonder what the tourists think about this. Couldn't imagine going on a vacation and not being able to take a shower or wonder if what I'm eating off of is clean or not.

New Orleans has big problems if tourists are following any of the local news.
