Dammit, Skynyrd is a damn hard to spell out.
Probably because it was a take off of the real person who spelled it more like you would expect
PS, 68, damn he was young.

Before Ronnie Van Zant died now of the greatest Rock Bands after his death greatest tribute band

Ironically, he was the only non-southerener. Was in a band before that had, a #1 hit, strawberry alarm clock? I’ll have to look it up now.

There is a documentary on Showtime called Lynyrd Skynyrd: If I Leave Here Tomorrow. I caught a bit of it tonight. Looks good so far.

Gary Rossington is the only one left. Ed King left the band before the plane crash, but IMO he was their best guitarist.
Artimus Pyle is also still alive.

Is the LSU band going to play their fight song during the Bama tribute before the 4th quarter? Too soon?
Baton Rouge/LSU is already responsible for the death of 1/2 the band

quote:He wasn't an "original" member of the band. He was a member pre-crash, but didn't join until late 1974. His first work with the band was recording Saturday Night Special in '74.
Artimus Pyle is also still alive.
The original drummer, Bob Burns, died in 2015.
With Ed King's passing, only Rossington is left of the original band that played on the Pronounced album.
If you really want to get technical, Larry Junstrom, who was the bass player in My Backyard/Noble Five/1%, is still alive, but he left in 1970.
Rickey Medlocke and Greg Walker are both still alive, and they worked with the band in 70/71 (Rickey played bass and drums on One More Time when they recorded it in 71, although it didn't get put on an alum until Street Survivors). They both left the band before Pronounced was released and formed their own band - Blackfoot.

Skynyrd was from Jacksonville. So, this could get awkward again when we play Florida.
