I'm from uptown N.O. 3rd ward for life!!! Knew P, C-Murder, Sonya, Vercy, from Calliope projects and Brian (Birdman), Ronald (Slim) from Magnolia Terius Gray (Juvenile) and Michael Tyler (Mystikal)Also YellaBoy, UNLV, Soulja Slim. But then everyone Uptown knew these people!!! Uptown was SERIOUS in the 90's. P moved from uptown N.O. to Richmond, California before coming back to Baton Rouge. Baton Rouge was SAFER!!!

Master P messed up by not signing Kyper.

C-Murder was one of the most talented rappers of his time.
A lot of his tracks, like "snow bunny", were so far ahead of his time it was ridiculous.
I've never called for the release of a rapper or entertainer, but I always felt he got the raw deal there. More than a few of the witnesses said it wasn't him at all.

I once saw Juvenile stall out in buckhead by Lennox mall because he didn't know how to drive a stick. No shite.

Ha definitely. He told me he only had a job so that they could draw child support from his check.

the late political consultant Gus Wiel began banging his glass with a knife. He stepped to the front of the room to speak. I took a curious perch up on the steps leading to the upstairs dining area and I still remember Gus' words...
" We never thought we would see the day, but here it is....white Baton Rouge and black Baton Rouge finally coming together as one."
Gus is still alive and it doesn't surprise me that he would have said that. I love hearing him interviewed.

I saw Bobby Brown in Alpharetta at a Publix just down the road from Country Club of the South. Dude walked into the store as I was checking out and started yelling "whaaaaat's up People...IIIIIIIIIIIIIII'm heeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrreee". Looked wasted...he yelled this about 3 times and then just walked into the store and started shopping. Was hilarious.

There was a lot of pressure put on a few jurors to change their verdict.
He is appealing based on this info that came out after the trial.

Several played basketball at the Rec. I remember Ron Mercer playing there too. Snoop Dog.
I recall Mercer too. He dominated without even trying.
I also remember seeing MasterP's team about to lose a game so suddenly he starts calling a bunch of fouls.

They played a charity basketball game at the P-Mac

I also recall the rumors that P was influencing LSU football games, at the same time the defensive backs mysteriously suddenly couldn't swat down passes right in front of them. Then suddenly P stopped being seen at the Rec and the new rumor was LSU kicked him off campus bc of the football bribing.
