You don't know what you're talking about.

I absolutely remember the Sound Shop having a gigantic No Limit section in 1998

Didn't realize Juvenile lived in Baton Rouge. What connection did he have to the city?

One of my teachers in middle school had parents who lived in CCLA. Snoop was their next door neighbor for about a year, although I doubt he was there that often.

I know Master P left town owing a ton of money to people, all over. He had a 5 digit debt with a guy who sold expensive foreign rugs. He said C-Murder was always on top of his finances though. Liked him much more, despite the murder charge

True Story. Years ago I was waiting tables at Sullivans when it first opened. No-Limit Records had a private party big blow out there to announce that it was forming and that Master P would be building an empire here in BR. All the local politicos were present and sucking up to him.

After the gratuitous 45 minutes of mingling over cocktails, the late political consultant Gus Wiel began banging his glass with a knife. He stepped to the front of the room to speak. I took a curious perch up on the steps leading to the upstairs dining area and I still remember Gus' words...

" We never thought we would see the day, but here it is....white Baton Rouge and black Baton Rouge finally coming together as one."

The irony of the moment was that as we looked out over the room...it was segregated right down the middle with all of "black Baton Rouge" on one side and " white Baton Rouge" on the other.

I wonder if my awkward, under the breath laugh is still heard

Regardless, the thread asked about their influence on Baton Rouge which was NOTHING positive. They created a farce, and were an horrible example of not only La, but of the black community. They provided no service to the city other than promoting a thuggish lifestyle while creating debt and bankruptcy for a lot of people. But I guess it's 'cool' to have that sort of 'culture'

What exactly did 'P' do? ...and they are all wannabes. They never get arrested until after they create their image and are trying to maintain some farce.

P did most of the gangster stuff to get his record label started. After it started, he ran it like the mob and really had gangsters on his team. He was no joke. Just look up what he did to Pimp C from UGK.

Yhere were plenty of jobs created when he stayed here. My aunt had a cleaning service that had a contract to clean his and Snoop's house in CCLA.
