I would rather shoot myself than read from that thing.

I don't like how they show you one word at a time. Way to choppy.

That is a really cool concept that I might try out.

frick that. I can read it but my in-my-head voice is sounding like a robot. Did anyone else feel that way?

I've always been a slow reader. I was just saying at lunch yesterday, no matter how much more I read, I don't read faster at all. I'm gonna give it a try, why not

You're supposed to relax and focus on the red letter. Your brain does the rest.

Funny enough, that's exactly how you read a book.

I am too. I tend to look at too many words. I'll try it out on a real passage if I can get over the robot sound in my head when I read on that thing.

I can read 1000 pages in ten hours already. I just realized within the last few months that most people read one word at a time. I look at a few sentences, like a picture, process, and go to the next few.

Reading one word at a time would take forever. I don't repeat single words in my head like that.

That is not how I read at all.

I forgot that this is the OT for a minute. Cue the OT elite that can read 2500 wpm without even breaking a sweat.

I swear I think that they left out the words "time" and "give" on the bottom one. Maybe not, but I can't see them.

Again, the key is to just "see" them, not pronounce them. Once you can do that you've got it. It takes some practice.

Really? That's crazy.

I suppose if you need to read something quickly, it would be a good thing. But if reading for leisure, I'm not sure I would enjoy using that. I'm a professional writer, and I always enjoy the words, passages, and construction of paragraphs and chapters.

I'm gonna shove my Cisco manuals in that bitch and tell the engineers to get with it.

My other concern would be retention. Reading fast is great but if it sacrifices retention then it's pretty worthless.
