And to think, that's just the reported ones.

Again, until we start punishing crimes properly this will only continue to get worse.

I expect that number to drop dramatically once the statues come down.

On Tuesday, Asher tweeted that New Orleans has seen 68 armed robberies so far in December, putting it on pace for 100 by the end of the month. If so, it would be the fifth straight month with more than 90 armed robberies reported, he said.

That number should go down once the statues come down. People are just acting out right now.

Now now. Let's see if things get better once the statues are gone.

Came here to say that.

NOPD historically under-reports.

There were 4 armed robberies and a carjacking early this morning making today the 66th straight day with an armed robbery or carjacking.

The streak lives to see another day!

I don't think, aside from Chicago, maybe, that there's a city with that confounding of a statistic. It is truly repulsive and even the most ardent of NOLA supporters and apologists need to come to grips with that they're facing. It's appalling and downright ugly.

This. The cops can only do so much. Its like continuing to put sharks into a huge tuna pond and being flabbergasted that the sharks are eating the tuna.

Only a 30% chance of getting caught - that's encouraging

But they are taking down the statues. How is this possible?

I'd like to see the same stats for the Bay Area. They have to be at least on par with NOLA.
