As usual, New Orleans topping yet another list while Baton Rouge lags behind.

New Orleans isn't even the worst traffic in the state.

Well, no shite. Even the most staunch NOLA supporter doesn't deny that.

It's worse than BR. The setup for NOLA is simply retarded.

BR > NOLA

It's all based on data uploaded from navigation. Worst day of the year was in February last year. Would like to see how that correlated to Mardi Gras and/or festival season. Also, how much of that is driven by the Quarter and Canal Street, which I would agree are generally terrible. I would take New Orleans traffic over Baton Rouge any and every day of the week. That's not a slam on BR, just an observation that this study is poo poo.

The study states that the most congested day of the year in New Orleans was February 28, 2014.

Friday before Mardi Gras.

Exactly...there's probably a two week period where everyone's sitting parked on surface streets throwing everything askew.

New Orleans problem is not enough lanes. It gets wide in sections but then there is a bottle neck. Also, whoever designed the two on ramps, that come in from both sides right past the airport, should be drawn quarters and set on fire.

1. idiots need to have THREE damn lanes from the Pontchartrain expressway to I-10 east and TWO to I-10 west.

2. Make HUGE signs that say "Don't randomly hit your brakes for no good reason when going up small inclines"
(this is a huuuuge problem - See Veterans overpass)

3. Re-stripe the lanes on the Eastbank bound GNO bridge. It's been way too long now to not have done this. The booths were down in a day. You saying you can't restrip the lanes, so we don't have three lanes going to one four times with NO striping?

4. Come up with a curtain system to cover accidents.
--Make rubbernecking a $1000 fine. If your following distance with the car in front of you increases to greater than 4 seconds in traffic, you get fined. If you hit your brakes with no car within 40 feet of your front bumper, you get fined.

5. Send whoever designed all the left entrances to Angola for life.
