Correct that cholesterol is vital and we need it to live.

We are discussing lowering cholesterol in the bloodstream, which is a small portion of the total cholesterol in the body. That cholesterol in the bloodstream, just happens to significantly increase risk of heart disease (one of the largest killers of humans). So the reason for lowering it (in the bloodstream) is to allow people to live longer, that's why.

I’ve been taking 10 mg of Crestor every night for the past 2 years.

What side effects do y’all keep talking about? I haven’t really noticed anything but maybe I’m missing something or I’m just immune

Some have none. I felt terrible overall. Almost hangover like daily. Others experience joint pain

Around $600 currently (cash).

I probably have familial HLD but just initiated max dose rosuvastatin for a 3m trial to see how much of an impact it will have before switching to a PCSK-9 inhibitor.

Repatha runs me about a hundred a month. A month supply is two shots. Price varies with insurance I would assume. They also have programs that can help a person financially.

It really is an amazing drug. Targets PCSK9 as well, without the statin side effects.

Of course, for repatha to work, you must also take a statin with it. Usually a low dose. Reduced my LDL for 105 to 45. I was never able to lower my Chol and LDL a stitch.

As opposed to distributing shitty health-related advice (don't take creatine, guys! It's bad for you!) and religious nut job rhetoric like you?

Leg cramping and liver toxicity to name a few

Not true. I can’t take statins due to side effects, and Repatha dropped my cholesterol 80 points in six weeks. Wasn’t on anything prior to starting it.

Hey stupid, show me where I said dont take creatine. Liar. I told a story of a young man that ate half a large container of it, thinking it would make him bigger quickly. It destroyed his kidneys per the doc.

Are you stupid, or just a liar?

And I am guilty of being a conservative Christian, yes.

Well...that is good. It didn't work without statins for me. When the doc saw I my ldl didn't get any lower and he saw that I wasn't on a statin. He said, "oops, you gotta have a statin with this." Thats when my ldl (and chol) plummeted. I believe the lit also said a statin was needed, but I haven't reread it in a few years, it may be different now.

Leg cramping..had that with 3 different statins. With repatha, i take a really low dose and haven't experienced it again. Usually a physician will switch you if your legs are cramping, obviously something a person needs to tell their MD.

Nah. It's the wacko beliefs that I'm talking about. Don't play coy.
