New Iberia Haircut - is it really a real thing? Or is it just a joke?

What I mean is: Do people in New Iberia call their haircuts the "New Iberia Haircut" or do outsiders simply use the retarded haircut to make fun of people who live in New Iberia?

If that makes sense.

but do people in New Iberia call this haircut the New Iberia Haircut?

For example, if as an outsider I was to drive through New Iberia and decide to get a haircut, could I simply say, "I'd like the New Iberia Haircut, baw," and the barber or hair stylist know what I talking about?

They just call it a haircut in New Iberia...just like in France....they are called fries...not french fries. Or in Texas...it is just toast...not Texas toast
