slide a flat screwdriver under each end of the staple with the blades on edge. place a third flat screwdriver in the center of the staple and strike it smartly with a 16 oz. ball peen hammer. repeat as necessary.

also, a free tip on ridding yourself of crablice. requires razor, propane torch and a sharp ice pick. shave one side of your pubes, and set the other side on fire. when crabs run out of the fire, stab them with an ice pick.

Why don't you try going back to the doctor who put them in in the first place

It's technically considered theft. I would gladly remove staples for a friend...but I'm not taking home medical supplies with me. Not when our hospital fired a nursing assistant that got caught taking a package of baby diapers home.

Look on amazon...you can buy the staple remover on there for cheap.

Today is the fourth day of them in. They told me 3-5 days then remove. If I wait 6-7 days will I be putting myself into a bad situation?

I'd assume it is fine if you buy the staple remover first. Surely keeping/removing the staples cannot be considered theft, no?

I don't think you understand how it is working in a hospital. I can't just take a staple remover kit and pay for it at work

Wut? You don't have a medical supply employee commissary at your hospital?

Hey Sally, can I get two Stryker knees and a pig valve please? My uncle isn't feeling well.

Just leave them, they're not hurting anything.

I don't think that's a good idea... I assume there is a major risk associated with just leaving them in right?

Staples are easier to take out than stitches. Find a nurse friend who has the tool that you use.

The only way that could be a problem is if the nurse caused further injury or used unsterile instrument and caused an infection. The nurse would be in trouble from you and your lawyer. If you know a home health nurse, she probably has a few kits in her car that are sterile and would be happy to help. Your doc won't care for sure. I took my husband's out, doc said I could.

Yeah it seems like that's the way to go. I'll wait until they get off, I'd rather them select the tool. Does anyone know if there is a true risk to leaving them in an extra day or two?

ETA: I saw your post Isabelle. Thanks y'all.
