So you work 80 hours a week and go to school full time. There's no way

He's probably at work 40-50 hours per week, then during hunting season at the hunting camp on the weekend cooking. I'm pretty sure that's what he's referring to. It isn't really out of the realm of possibilities.

Full time school is only 9 hours for grad school. I pulled quite a few 70ish hour work weeks while traveling and taking a full time load of grad work.

haven't borrowed a penny (using same strategy) but it's gonna end up taking me 5 years because I fricked up my freshman year. still cant believe how terrible my decision making was. gonna end up wasting so much dough on that extra year

I worked 30-40 hours a week waiting tables while going to school full time. There's no way in hell I could have worked twice as much and got my engineering degree. Not saying that you're not doing it, but it's extremely impractical

To be fair, grad school is a lot different than undergrad. You have a lot more people who are already in their respective careers taking grad school coursework.

In the big scheme of things, 1 more year will not even be a factor in your life. Lots of people drop out and waste 3-4 years before they go back, then still have to borrow money. A year after you finish, that one extra year will be a distant memory, especially knowing you have no debt.

I'm not disagreeing. It's not easy, but I'm currently taking 3 classes. Which is full time for me. I had an opportunity to get in the kitchen for a few months and took it. That was Thursday night then Saturday and Sunday. I was in the kitchen 20-30 hours during all of that, and never slipped under my 45 a week, which I'm allowed to come and go, as long as I get my hours and work done in the 7 day pay period. Which I've never failed to do.

I don't have cable or Internet at home cause I'm never there. I have a small place that I show up to and sleep and store beer. It works for me is all I'm saying. Also, my full time job is blowing and going from 5am until 10pm 5 days a week.

I worked a full time night shift 11:30pm - 7:30am then went to school for 2 years. Only reason I stayed is because I had 40 hours a week and didn't work weekends. Finally got a day job this semester and work 30h/week.

Screw loans..I'll never take one out.

It's really 5-5 leaving for 3 hours a day. I used that term meaning my full time job.

Ham you forgot to mention you're a single dad raising three kids by yourself as well. I guess you didn't want to make it look like you had a rough life. Understandable

I do think there's a child in Georgia with my name on it, but that's neither here nor there.

How much does LSU grad school cost that you have to work that much to pay tuition and have a presumably small amount of living expenses and very little extracurricular expenses because you don't have time.

Let's assume you make $20/h as some sort of geology graduate. Straight 40h would be $40k/y. You can't live your life on $40k while in grad school?

TigerHam hasn't told you about his 3rd job, 10-15 hours per week
