Went to New Orleans a few weekends ago, and went to City Park on a beautiful Saturday. All of the wildlife shots were taken on Bayou Metairie right by Cafe Du Monde, and the Peristyle. Cool seeing wildlife like this in middle of the city.

Then we hit up Bayou Sauvage on the way back home on Sunday. Nice cure for a hangover. Love that place.

The osprey at city park can be aggressive. I was out there fishing one day and one kept trying to catch my frog everytime I made a cast. Even made a dive at it while it was sitting a few feet from me in the shore

Those talons are perfectly designed fishing hooks.

I’m out there at the playground with my 3 y/o every weekend. People, mainly tourists, think I’m fricking with them when I say there are alligators in those lagoons.

Park was packed that day, and people were just strolling right by that big water snake a couple of feet away sitting atop some brush on the bank, no one noticed.

thank you. I shot those with a Nikon Cool Pix 950. Its a bridge camera, but I like it for hiking or walking around a park because it can shoot micro as well as long range, and I don't have to carry around a big lens. Tons of zoom on that thing.
